Verification

Member Registration Verification.

Each member shop is issued a unique registration number that appears on every page of every instrument in the shop's compliance packet. Submit the number below to confirm its validity, current status, and the public information of record.

Member registration numbers are issued exclusively to shops that have completed an enrollment in the Legal Tuning Compliance Program. Registrations are permanent — issued once, stamped with the date of issuance, and listed in the public Member Registry indefinitely unless revoked for cause. If the number entered does not return a record, it was not issued by Legal Tuning. To report a suspected discrepancy, contact hello@legaltuning.com.

Who uses verification

The verification mechanism is the durable evidence of program completion.

The Legal Tuning member registration number serves the same function across every party that has reason to confirm a shop's compliance posture. Verification is open to the public and free of charge.

Insurers

Commercial general liability and professional liability carriers may verify a shop's compliance program enrollment as part of underwriting or renewal. The Compliance Standard provides documented operational practices the carrier's underwriting questionnaires typically cover.

Retained counsel

An attorney representing a member shop in any matter involving the Clean Air Act may confirm the shop's registration status to incorporate the documented compliance posture into the matter's defense strategy. The instruments issued are designed to be reviewable by counsel.

Customers

Buyers — particularly fleet operators, dealers, and parts distributors purchasing from member shops — may verify the shop's compliance program enrollment before completing a substantial transaction. The Verified Member badge embeds a real-time link to the public verification.

Regulators

Federal and state regulators may verify the shop's registration in the public record. Adoption of a written compliance program before regulatory contact is a recognized mitigating factor in the calculation of civil penalties under 42 U.S.C. § 7524.

Suppliers and distributors

Upstream suppliers may verify the compliance program enrollment of downstream retailers as part of channel onboarding and ongoing supplier qualification.

Industry partnerships

Trade associations, sponsorship programs, and industry events may verify enrollment status as part of member-shop affinity programs and partnership eligibility.

Member registration number format

LT–YYYYNNNNN
LT

Fixed prefix denoting Legal Tuning issuance.

YYYY

Calendar year of issuance. Stamped permanently — a member enrolled in 2026 carries 2026 indefinitely.

NNNNN

Sequential registration number, zero-padded to five digits. Unique across all members for the issuance year.

The same registration number appears in the header and footer of every page of every instrument issued to the member shop. Customization is the protection — a member's instruments cannot be silently shared with another shop.
